99 G16 not firing, clutch spinning

All kinds of options for a Yamaha G 16. I cannot think of any other cart that has as many repower choices as it does.

So what your saying is you press the throttle and had to crawl home? It turned the engine but barely made it and never fully kicked in spinning the belts? Before you rip apart the motor and all that jazz I'd check the Throttle cable. The one that comes off the pedal going into the motor. Lift the back end of the cart so the back wheels are off and try to use just the connection on the motor where that cable connects. If it engages then its the cable. I replaced mine and accidently ran it under the frame when I installed it instead of over it...I hit a rock and pinched the cable and had to slowly limp it home. Hopefully that's all it is because $40 is a lot cheaper than a new motor.
