Has any one ever cut the I beam on outside frame where the round stock comes thru. I was thinking of cutting a v at the round stock and beating the I beam back up and weld it to keep it from cutting my tires.

You can see a little bit in this picture how mine is trimmed:
You can also move the front suspension 1/2" to 3/4" forward on the frame by redrilling the holes that much more towards the front of the cart. |

If you loosen the bolts in the splines (don't take them all the way out) and move it up, bolt it down, and then retighten the U-joint bolts, it should be ok. If not, put a shim under the steering tower.
There is also an adjustment on the steering column itself. You can loosen the 4 9/16" bolts that hold it to the frame and see what happens there too. It's not exactly tilt steering, but there is an adjustment to the incline of the steering column. |
