Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
Yep, installed a 6" lift kit. Still got the problem. Wondered if anyone had altered the shape of the brake pedal arm?

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
I would call Jakes and ask them what's going on 23s should fit under a 6 inch lift?
I have not seen anybody modify the brake peddle assembly to correct that problem... I had 22s under a 4inch lift without that problem on a workhorse? |

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
Photos #040 and #041 show wheels turned left hitting brake pedal arm.
Photo #042 shows wheels turned right, right tire hitting leaf spring. This one might be fixed by putting on a 2" spindle extension, but it will not fix the brake arm problem. |

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
There should be a stop to limit the tire from hitting the leaf spring that is too sharp of a turn anyway.... I am confused on the 22 inch tires hitting the Brake peddle arm with the 6inch lift? Call Jakes!
They will help if nobody else has an explanation here... |

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
This is a great project you have going. I'm building a workhorse also. Mine was in terrible shape and we had to cut away some of the original fram and weld in new rails up front. You are certainly moving faster than me, but I don't have alot of time to work on mine. I'm about to put a high 5 lift on mine and already know I have to make some mods to the rear end. I'm curious to see how you correct the front end issue because I plan on using much larger tires than you are using. I hope to start posting pics of my cart soon like you are doing. I plan to use a complete engine/swingarm kit from cartspartsplus. Keep the post going, I'm learning valuable info from you.
Thanks |

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
Didn't hear back from Jake's. Going to install stops once I get the 2" spindle extensions. Shift cables are in. Hooking up gas linkage this week. Hope to send pics of it as I saw a lot of discussion about Vanguards and linkages.
Buggie should be running within 2 weeks. |

Re: EZGO Workhorse Project
It runs!!!! but......
I got some play in the spindles and ordered new kingpin tubes and bearings. Can someone help me out by telling me how to remove the old bearings? Found out that I have 3 tires sizes...sigh...(2) @ 23", (1) @ 22-1/2"and (1) @ 22-3/4". I could see it in the frame. Where would you guys rotate the tires to? All are inflated to 25 lbs. I'll send some pics of the drive drain and carb hookup tomorrow. I've decided to build the body. I want to do a classic 60's Dune Buggy. I'm drawing the frame in 3d in Autocad as close as I can measure it. If anyone wants a copy of the file when I'm done let me know. Doc says two bulging disks. We're looking at surgery but he won't do it until I stop smoking. Another hill to climb. |
