Hang in there, careful with the bad back and post progress as it happens.

Found out that I have 3 tires sizes...sigh...(2) @ 23", (1) @ 22-1/2"and (1) @ 22-3/4". I could see it in the frame. Where would you guys rotate the tires to? All are inflated to 25 lbs. I'll send some pics of the drive drain and carb hookup tomorrow.

I've decided to build the body. I want to do a classic 60's Dune Buggy. I'm drawing the frame in 3d in Autocad as close as I can measure it. If anyone wants a copy of the file when I'm done let me know.

Doc says two bulging disks. We're looking at surgery but he won't do it until I stop smoking. Another hill to climb.
Skipper, youve got way too much air in those tires. I run a simular tire with 5 lbs of air.

The build is looking great Where are you in IL?

Roselle, Il. 14 miles west of Chicago. The tires did not have a recommended inflation other than Zdo not exceed 35 PSI when beading tires. I'll reduce the pressure.

HA! I grew up in Hoffman Estates. My folks still live there.
We're heading to the Tri-county trails Friday. http://www.tricountytrails.com/
Can you finish it by then?

reducing tire inflation will more than likely fix your clearance issues. Your tires may not measure 22" overall as most rarely do. I have 23" tires that measure about 21-1/2 with 5 lbs in them.

My wife and I both did short, somewhat incomplete stints at The University Of Southern Palatine.

Ok, as promised. Pic 1 is the gas linkage to the 23 HP Vanguard.
(1) Stock EZGO Workhorse Gas Cable. No length adjustment needed.
(2) Aluminum Angle 1/2x1/2 slotted to accept stock cable and drilled to use existing cable mount screw.
(3) Ah.... the govenor. To bypass this I just loosened this nut.
(4) With the nut loosened on the govenor I needed a return spring on the linkage. A better view of this spring is in photo 044.
(5) A 1/4 threaded spacer at 1/2" long from Ace hardware to accept the stock cable end.

(6) Added this spring from Home Depot to help support the header pipe. I didn't want to use the steel plate they provided to attach to the frame. I was afraid with a hard bump I'd crack the pipe. You can see the horizontal spring that I attached to the gas linkage just above.

Had to put it away for the winter but it runs great. Was hoping to get the wheel extensions before it got wrapped up but that didn't happen either. Will start designing the body soon.
