Default manual rivet gun?

Hey guys whats going on?

Thinking about taking my front cowl off to install my radio and run wires. The problem is I do not have an air powered rivet gun to reinstall the cowl. Would a manual rivet gun get the job done and if so, which one would you guys recommend?

Thanks!

No reason a manual rivet gun wouldn't work just as well as a pneumatic one. Get the rivets first and make sure your manual gun can handle the largest rivets you need to use. If the center shaft of the rivet fits in your gun, you're good to go.

I have a manual rivet gun and I like it. It was $30 from NAPA. They have expensive tools, but of a high quality. The thing I like about my manual gun over my pneumatic one is that the manual one forces you to not put too much force into it - just as much as is needed, whereas a pneumantic one just goes POP! and sometimes can get unruly. Just my 2 cents worth.......

All I have ever used is a manual one, and it works great. Like Gorno said, if the rivet fits in it, it should work...

A manual one will work yes and I think it is only 11 rivets ?? I have a pneumatic however and love it. $30 at Harbor Freight. One of the main reasons is I can put a rivet in with one hand while holding the part with the other.

I find a manual rivet squeezer to be very difficult on the steel seat hinge rivets. The harbor freight air powered squeezer works flawlessly. Highly recommended if you ever plan on doing more then one body swap..

I can vouch for the gun Ogeecheegolfcart shows. It will handle just about every rivet on the cart.
