Re: 1989 ezgo rough running
Again, make sure to check the welds. If they are broken, the cradle will flex and eventually lead to a crack in the muffler inlet pipe. If you knew how much that muffler cost, you would be checking the welds immediately. The muffler cost more than you probably paid for the cart.

Re: 1989 ezgo rough running
It'll be hard to find a muffler for that price. 3 years ago I saw them as high as $1600. Company folded and price gouging ensued. It seems to be stabilizing a little now. $903 from EZGO.

Re: 1989 ezgo rough running
now that we are talking about that muffler kinda makes you wonder why they mounted it were they did in the way they did? Should have found a way to mount that baby to the engine so when your mounts failed it wouldn't do as you described. oh well

I changed mine. I removed the bolts between the muffler pipe and intake pipe. I bought longer bolts and installed a spring under each bolt nut. This gives the setup a little bit of compliance. I used nyloc nuts. |

2" wide header wrap from ebay. It really keeps the heat out of the engine compartment.
