2PG Crankshaft
Does anyone have a line on a new rod and crankshaft for a 2PG?
I can find the later 89-93 crank which I guess is the 3pg. All the vendors I know of say its no longer available. Thanks |

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
Hasn't been available for a few years now, exactly what's wrong with yours? If it's just the rod bearing these cranks can be pressed apart, check with your local engine repair shops.

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
thanks guys, I'll call around and see if I can find a machine shop to do press it apart and together.
Is it the 250 engine bearing? |

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
I would focus on the exact number on the bearing itself rather than it should be the same as an old Polaris, but I'm sure a reputable machine shop will mic the pin and the rod and check the number anyway

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
Well, I've got a 250 rod bearing coming. I also got a set of crank ball bearings and seals. The while I'm here kind of deal. And,, I'm sure the machinist will let me know how I should have done this right.
I appreciate all the help. I didn't want to just junk the cart. |

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
So you did find a machine shop that'll press it apart??
When I bought my complete engine kit (included crank back in 2017) for a 2pg I wasn't happy with the cheapie chinese bearings that came with it, they felt rough right out of the box. So I went to a local bearing shop instead and got a good USA brand along with the seals, much better quality....Just sayin' |

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
haven't looked for shop yet, I thought I'd have bearing in hand when I show up to get the work done. I'll check the other bearings. I've used the kit bearings before and they were okay, but you never know.

Re: 2PG Crankshaft
I used a dial gauge on the crank-rod assembly. It showed .001 at 90 degrees to piston, and .005 straight from piston. Its not ideal, I know, but is it useable? I haven't found any specs listed.
Btw, its $100 to split and join crank here. |
