Club car surging issues.
SN-A0101-977894
Resting PV- 51.3V Individual batteries all 6- 8.4~ Under-load driving FULL THROTTLE Pv 49.7 Individual all 6- 8.3~ The issue comes with driving, doesn’t matter the terrain(mostly flat) the speed is slower than others, while going Full throttle it will surge intermittently for approximately 3-10 seconds to the usual golf cart speed of 11-13mph. The surging is not consistent enough for me to get a good grasp on the problem. I’m at a standstill on the issue. I have jacked it up and had probes on main neg and b+ and get full PV at resting and gradual decreasing V as I depress the pedal. Which to my understanding is what it’s supposed to do. Any ideas from the techs? I’m open to trying it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Club car surging issues.
Try putting it in neutral and pumping the accelerator pedal 20 or 30 times. That often helps surging on a cart with an MCOR. I'm not sure if it will help with yours but it certainly won't hurt. It helps clean the potentiometer coils (in the accelerator).

Re: Club car surging issues.
That's an '01 Bruce, it ~should have a variable speed potentiometer (V-Glide) on it...
But to your point, it could have a burnt contact on the pad, too..... |

No it doesn’t have an MCOR, it does have the pot’ pads have been cleaned, I was afraid of it being the brushes just didn’t want to admit it to myself, Well to the golf course anyways. How bad is that job? I mean opening it up, replacing, cleaning and reinstall

Re: Club car surging issues.
It is not too bad, but be ever so careful removing the cables so you do not bust the lugs/posts. Double wrench everything.....
Any small motor shop or starter/alternator shop will do it for you.... |

Re: Club car surging issues.
So I was doing a motor swap with another cart they have laid up and and just to add headache to the hole process a motor stud broke attempting to remove nut. Didn’t break inside just snap the actual stud

I did double wrench everything but that’s life working on these ride hard put up wet carts
