Very nice. That's a great place for it, especially when you have the door to cover it. The job looks good!

I'm happy with mine even though it is on the inside. It has been in place now for many months and I haven't had any fuses go so I don't need to get to it much.

I think I’m going to end up mounting my fuse block here, possibly the reducer too.

Can someone confirm if i have this relay labeled correctly? I have a 4 wire 48v to 12v reducer and I want to wire in a relay off the ignition to a Blue Sea fuse block.

Also have 2 questions:

1) If it is correct, which of the two wires on the ignition would I tap? I haven't checked voltage on either yet.

2) Would the "from battery pack negative" be correct or would it be "from voltage reducer negative"?

I mounted mine under the seat. It is in the exact spot that mndanielsncsu mentioned.
My cart is the 6-8V configuration.
Excuse the wire mess. Some of it I could clean up but I have the cord to my battery maintainer and the wiring for my spray rig all piled up under there.
You can see that there is room to mount the reducer, fuse box and ground buss where I have it.

The idea of the relay is to turn the voltage reducer on and off with the key. It has nothing to do with the fuse block (that is wired from the output of the reducer). We do this because simply wiring the reducer through the key without a relay would put too much current through the key which is not designed for that.

Check out my attached diagram - the power from the key when it is switched on goes to the relay and on to the -48V. This switches the relay which closes the large contacts and allows current to flow to the reducer from the battery pack (the relay is just a switch in the +48V line).

Your picture should look as it is here.

The cold side of the switch has power when the key is on (the other side has power all the time). I can't remember the wire colour.

The -48V from the reducer goes to the B- connection near the batteries.

Your fuse block is wired with the +12V and -12V which come from the output of the reducer.

Let me know if any of that is confusing and I'll try to make it clearer.

Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. My relay comes this weekend so I'll mess with it then and report back. Installing an Alltrax XCT and solenoid in the meantime.

By the way, love Melbourne! Was there twice last year for work, hoping to get back at some point this year once travel bans are eased.
