Default Voltage Reducer 20 amp, 48 to 12

Looking for a good 20 amp unit.

Has anybody used or have this 48 to 12 voltage reducer? Any good?

Looks like I'd have to mount it between the batteries near the controller, It's 8x4x2.25

I'd do it both ways... above is the Copy and Paste method, (between the quotation marks,) and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190311098793

This is the way it should be done!

Note: The site doesn't want to list directly to ebay for some reason so just use the text between the quotes. :)

I had a good ebay one that was similar but different It was a 25amp and cost about $116 it had 48v in one side 12v out the other.... I had all kinds of stuff on that cart including an electric dump cylinder for the cargo box and that thing did just fine...... A good one will cost but it is worth the couple of extra $s
I have burnt up the cheap (10-15amp) ones

I asked this guy whether it was a solid 20 amp or just peak and he stated it was a solid 20. He was an old timer and by his conversation seemed to care about his products as well as satisfaction with them, 100% positive feedback. And of course I liked the fins for heat distribution, but ya never know!

These are the reducers that we have on our site, for some reason I couldn't find them to copy and paste! But this is me on E-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140301369952

That link doesn't work either... can you post the link like I did above with it just being text between two quotes? I'll copy and paste it into the browser...

I got to it by entering the item number...

"For use on carts with 48-volt systems. Accessories such as lights, horns, and fans use 12-14 volts. A voltage reducer is a must to reduce the voltage. Reduces from 16-18 volts (2 batteries) to 12-14 volts. Hooks up to 2 batteries. 25 amps. 205" x 8" x 1"High."

I have 4 12 volts batteries and want to take the full pack of 48 volts down to 12 volts. If I'm reading this right, the one you have listed takes 2 8 volt batteries to the 12.

Good price though for a 25 amp reducer!

For that kind of cost why dont you just add a 12 volt deep cycle battery and solve all the side effects caused by using 48 volt pack as sourse of power? I use a handicapped scooter battery UB 12350 and it was $55.00, and being small and sealed you can place it almost anywhere.

Old Mec,

Thanks for the suggestion. It is actually the best way to go in my eyes as well, no drain on ANY of the pack batteries! I followed your posts on this but in my case, it's a space issue. If you look at my cart pics the bagwell is full with my charger and 30' pull cord so I am out of room! At the price asked for this unit I decided to go with it and I'll see how it works.
