Default How to install headlights

I have a 1992 Ezgo Marathon 36 volt golf cart. I want to mount headlights on it without alot of cost. How hard is it to do and do you need special fuses or attachments to do it. I just want simple headlights. Thanks

FWIW, go to Wal-Mart or some auto parts store (Auto Zone, Advance Auto, Napa, etc.) and get some of the driving lights there. They are small and come with wiring, toggle switch, inline fuse, screws, brackets for lights, etc. You can get out for around 20-25 dollars. They work great if all you need are headlights. 12 v. Runs off 2-6v in series. To keep from killing two batteries, switch up to different batteries every month or so. Mounted mine to my front shock cover. All I had to do was drill a couple of small holes to feed the wires through. Others on here may have some better ideas. Be sure and run negative back to batteries and not ground on cart. Just my 2 cents.

What ddecaron said look for one that has metal bracket for the lights. I got mine and it was plastic...it works but I keep thinking it is gonna snap off when I hit bumps. but so far so good. Unless you use the lights all the time, don't worry about moving the wires.

These fog lights work perfect for headlights, and are easy to install.

Don't want to hijack this thread but, how do you chain 2 six volt batteries together? They are already chained together with 4 others to make it 36 volts.

The reason I ask is because after reading this thread I went to Wal-Mart and bought the kit mentioned... $16.00.

Now how do I install... hahaha.

Thanks.

Either a voltage reducer accross all the batt's, or just pick two batteries in the bank and wire the negative to one batt, and then the positive (or the fuse block positive) to the other batt = 12 volts

Might be nitpicking a bit.....but not just any two batteries.

Any two ADJACENT batteries.

As always, please confirm voltages prior to connecting loads!

Yes, that was the example on the picture but I think it is hard to see in that picture. Here is a drawing of a typical 36 volt system.
