intermittent electrical prob
I have a 99 ez-go electric and I am having a intermittient power problem. I was driving the cart yesterday, and it just quit, when I got it home I started testing all wiring. Two things seemed weird to me, 1 all the posts on the motor were live, 38volts, power going into the controller and coming out all wires to the motor. 2 I could here the soleniod clicking when I steped on the pedal. Then this morning hopped on and it ran like a top no problem, and I can't get it to repeat the promblem in hopoes of narrowing it down. Any suggestions would be greatly appriated!

Re: intermittent electrical prob
If it quit while running, I would look for a bad battery or F-N-R switch connection.
If you had power to the motor with the key off, your solenoid is sticking and should be replaced. |

Re: intermittent electrical prob
Hello!
First, we'll need a little more info about your cart. Is it a Series, PDS or DCS? How old are your batteries? What type of controller do you have (stock or aftermarket)? With a little more info you'll get a lot more help! |

Re: intermittent electrical prob
It is a DCS, it has all new interstate batteries, stock controller, as far as i know the only things that have been replaced ever are the batteries and soleniod i just put in.it was purchased from a private owner who claims to have never had any probs with it. Until I get the hang of what info is needed to help me with this, please be patient, I am a newbe at the cart game. Thank you for your time.

Re: intermittent electrical prob
Sounds like after it cools down it works, that's indicative of a bad controller, especially on the DCS carts.
I will let others chime in here on this issue, but that's my call on it. |

Re: intermittent electrical prob
If you just changed the solenoid, did you also change that pesky resistor assembly that spans the 2 large posts of the solenoid? They fail.... alot. especially if you switch from forward to reverse while the cart is in motion.
