Series Motor Question
Hello All, i'm a newbie to this forum and have a somewhat sideway appeal for some assistance. I'm at my wit's end trying to get some insight into how I might troubleshoot a 1957 Bosch Dynastart unit from a 1-door BMW 300 Isetta. It's a co-axial 12VDC starter/generator mounted directly on the crankshaft end of a 300 CC motorcycle engine. The starter motor section of the unit does not work correctly and I simply can't find anyone that can troubleshoot it. It's basically a series wound motor embedded with 12V generator. You guys seem to have a handle on the big picture as to how these things work, and it would be really helpful if I could get some pointers as to what / how to proceed with this restoration project. If this is a bit out the box just let me know and I'll slide off. Thanks guys. Mike
