I went to a couple of the sponsor sites and typed in the search box "power inverters" and "inverters" and got no results. Am I using the proper terminology?

try reducer, if not look under accessories.

I got my power converter off of ebay a couple of years ago. Paid about $40 I think. I just wanted to run my lights so a 15 amp was all I needed. If you have multiple accessories you are running you may need one with higher amperage and those cost a bit more.

Im going to run a stereo. Can I just use two batteries?

Yes if it is a 36v cart, it will just pull from the batteries a little more than the rest of the pack, keep the batteries charged and you will be ok. It is better IMO to pull from the whole pack. good luck

This is not recommended but possible. You will start to see lower performance in those two only.
