Powerwise QE clicking sound - problem?
I own a 36v EZGO electric cart and a Powerwise QE battery charger. Recently after a heavy downpour (the charger sits under cover and is protected from the elements) I hooked up the charger to the cart and plugged it in and heard a large "pop" followed by a steady clicking sound in synch with the flashing green light on the charger. I quickly unplugged the charger.
Does anyone have any idea what may have happened? I have on several occasions over the last few days plugged it back in only to have the charger resume the clicking sound in synch with the flashing green light. It sounds like a relay being switched off and on about once a second. My question is this. Is the charger fried? Will it continue to charge? Do I need to replace it? Can it be repaired? Thanks, Alan |
