Default Clicks but.....

On my '96 TXT Series.....

Sometimes I press the pedal and the solenoid clicks and nothing else. Then suddenly we are rolling with nothing else changed. Other times it can take a few presses of the pedal to get action, again, with the solenoid clicking each time. This can happen from the first go of the day or randomly while driving and having stopped. Never has it NOT taken off.

The vast majority of the time all works great.

Was searching and see where the solenoid can click with no results..... Never have enough time to test because it starts working......

Should I just replace the solenoid as I have no idea as to the age

Mine did something similar. I cleaned it up for a weekend ride, but then replaced it.

So how did it perform after the cleaning? At least it looked pretty nice.

Ran great. I didn't use any invisible tape.

It was obvious it had overheated. It was also apparent that moisture had gotten in over the years. Mine was a 1998. The "temporary" fix probably lasted months before I bought a used one, but it soon suffered the same fate. I upgraded and never had another problem.

So....I may slowly convert to 48 volts....motor is already 36/48, heavy duty F&R in place, 4 ga cables in place.......now if I do a 36/48 solenoid......is the controller the last piece minus the extra 2 batteries?

Hate it when the $$ are tight for fun stuff.
