Thanks... When my generator comes and I get that on and check the solenoid contacts, etc, I will let you know how it goes. Do you mind if I write you through the forum if I still need direction?

make sure starter belt is tight...I had same problem an when I tightened it fired right up

You have a bad contact in the forward solenoid.What it sounds like to me

I think the starter/generator is the way to go,parts falling out sounds like it is causing problems when you have compression.hang in there no said it was going to be easy.

Clip a voltmeter to the battery and check the voltage when trying to start.

Bodz - mine also starts easier in reverse...and when the battery has been low it has been tough to start. Maybe charge or replace battery. A simple test I did was to hook up my camper battery...it turned right over then.
Also, Did you check your spark? Maybe go over the dumbest stuff...it is so easy to overlook the obvious! |
