Default 2010 sport 2+2 belt slippage

I recently got ahold of a 2010 wtih the 350cc robins. I changed the belt to the 6085, the shorter belt. We where riding on the road sat night and had to pull up a steep hill, the engine was turning lots of rpms and we where barely going, like the belt was slipping its but off. Any suggestions?
