Default New Yamaha gas cart pulsating break petal

So I just bought a new cart, had the dealer put in a 3" lift and wheels and tires. After I picked it up and drove it, the brake petal pulsates really bad. What could that be? Warped drum break?

Did the drum retainer clips get removed. They were put there to hold the drums on during assembly, and need to be removed. It's a metal "springy thing" pushed over one of the studs, it prevents the wheel bolting on totally flat.

I guess I'm not sure. I will have to look. What does it look like? And what does it do if it doesn't get removed?

Usually look like a thin washer with notches on the inside that grab the threads of the stud.

Often steel wheels are raised up at the hole so they clear them, but an alum wheel may be flat on the back and hit them.

Or yes could be the brakes are messed up but that usually takes a lot of wear or rust to happen.

Yamaha issued a tech bulletin telling us to remove them from customer carts for the exact symptoms you describe. We remove them no matter if stock wheel or aftermarket wheel. If you remove your tire/wheel, you will see the black brake drum, 4 wheel studs (lug nuts attach to these), three of them will be bare, one will have this funny looking ring against the drum. Needs to be removed.

The u-bolts that connect the springs to the axle may be too loose so the rear axle rocks and pulls the brake cables. You may be able to check this by setting parking brake and having someone push back of cart while you see if axle try's to rotate. Do this on level ground and behind the wheel's. I have seen this before.

I seriously doubt you have ever had this particular problem on a Yamaha, since Yamaha has never used "u-bolts" to secure the axle to the "springs", or ever used leaf springs for that matter.

my mistake cgtech the plates for the lift kit were u- bolted to the rear axle and they were loose. maybe it was an ezgo cant remember it was a couple of years ago. Would that make sense.

It may of been a ezgo. It had a lift kit and where the plates that attached it to the axle by 2 u-bolts on each side were all loose. I misspoke when I said spring to axle.

It is true if the engine and trans move relative to each other, it basically makes the belt short or long, it will screw up how the cvt shifts in a bad way. Engine mounts or trans moving, its bad.
