If the clutches are aligned properly, the belt shouldn't keep the clutches from shifting.



Trim the strings off of the belt and clean the sheaves with acytone.


Hate to sound dumb but I may need a pic of that ! LOL Do you mean the sheaves on the secondary clutch ?

Clean any built up rubber off of the sheaves of both clutches. The condition of the slides on the sliding sheave, and the ramps on the helix/spring seat is very important.

Sure. Remove the belt and clean as best as you can, if there's any rubber buildup.

Pull the cover off of the primary and see if anything looks amiss inside.

Well I ordered a new primary because there’s some play in it , kind of a just in case thing , thanks so much for your help will definitely give it a try and let ya know .
