Re: engine wont fire unless I spritz gas thru the choke
That is what i have been wondering.... i dont have a tester but need to get on and check it. i have a fair amount of liquid on the garage floor< but then again i have been squirtin' a lot of gas and starter fluid... im hoping compression is not the problem.

you may also have a bad crankshaft seal? i would start with the compression test and check to see if the seals are wet.

If you have not removed the carb and disassembled it and did a soaking/cleaning/blowing out of all the parts and orifices you might still have trash in the main or low speed circuit. You may also want to strip a piece of electrical wire and use the strands to run through the holes. Sounds like there is no problem with getting fuel to the carb or with your ignition or fire to the plug. It's in the carb. |

Re: engine wont fire unless I spritz gas thru the choke
Thanks for the advice. Yes I pulled it and cleaned various holes out, took the needle valve out, etc. But your idea of a good soaking for a few hours is good. There does not seem to be much to break down on the carb, other than removing the bowl and needle valve. Am i missing something?
I will also see if I can find some new gaskets. There is a place close by that carries some parts. Thanks! m |

Thanks guys. She's running! I just needed to dig a little deeper nito the carb. I did that last night, and she fired right up.
