02 Club Car : Stalls Frequently
Hello All,
I have been searching the forum for people with similar issues and have not found anyone that comes back to say this is the solution. This is gonna be a little long so please bear with me and I hope someone can help. While driving our golf cart it intermittently stalls and the coast beeper comes on and we coast to a stop. We take our foot off the accelerator and push it again and it runs just fine for a short period of time and it does it again. Sometimes it happens 10 times in a mile, other times just twice. Based on other issues, I figured it was the MCOR which I replaced over the weekend (Version 1). I found a V1 on Amazon so I did not have to do a conversion and my cart is old enough that all work has to be done from below. When driving I hear a "click" when it starts slowing which if I were to guess it was like someone was pressing a button and their figure slipped. SN: AQ0251-235475 |

Re: 02 Club Car : Stalls Frequently
The early IQ models had an error condition called "main drop-out" that was triggered by the controller activating regen brake to limit the speed.
Club car no longer sells the "main drop-out harness" that plugs to the Tow/Run switch to fix the issue, but since it is just a diode, you can just solder one on the wiring to correct the issue. Get a 10 amp diode like this: https://www.amazon.com/20-Pieces-10A...=3SHWVB1N1AG62 Cut the gray wire a few inches away from pin #9 at the Controller 16-pin connector. Solder the diode inline with that wire, the diode stripe side goes toward the Controller 16-pin connector. |

FYI....
It looks like this worked. After doing exactly what you said, I drove it for 10 minutes with no stalls whatsoever. Do you have a donation page? thanks again for the outstanding response |
