Replacement Rearend
If I understand it correctly, the newer 4 stroke units make reverse in there rearend?
If that is true, will a newer rearend fit in my old early 70's 2 stroke unit so I can update my engine? My rearend is coil sprung and not leaf springs. Does anyone think it will work? |

Re: Replacement Rearend
You understanding about the 4 stroke rear ends is correct. There are lots of coil spring 4 stroke rears, they came in late marathons and 804 utility carts. I would guess that anyone of these should be close to a bolt in replacement for your cart (not a 100% sure though) They have like a mount, 2 bolts per side that bolt it through the engine craddle frame pipe. the coil spring 4 strokes rears started in 91 and ended in 94 for the marathons but were still produced for some time after that in the utility carts (these were special order carts after 94). you could also weld your mounts to a leaf spring rear if needed
