What kind of rear end do I need?
I have just purchased a g1 cart with a snowmobile motor, got the motor running and the rear end works fine ,but has no reverse. I would really like reverse. don't know if this is original rear end, since the cart has had a lot
of work done to it. what type of rear end would work. appreciate any help thanks |

Re: What kind of rear end do I need?
On the G-1 golf carts the engine ran F&R, and on the 4 strokes there is a trany in the rear diff. So the motor is running the same all the time. So any 4 stroke axle would work for you.

The New Guy will chime in I'm sure. He is in the process of changing his G1 rear with a Yamy 4 stroke rear. He's got cool pics and everything

Re: What kind of rear end do I need?
I used a Yamaha G9 rear end mostly because the G2/G9 is what I'm most familiar with. Click on "Geep1 project" in my signature for pics.

Re: What kind of rear end do I need?
Check the spring mount widths to see if it will bolt up? You will need an Ezgo F&R and shift cables too What about the shock mounts? ...... and finding a belt to fit?

As long as it's out of a 4 stroke cart. You will no doubt have to do some fab work and need the right shifter cables, it will work. |
