Just bought a referb 05 EZ. Stops after 20 min

I just purchased a Refurbished Lifted EZGO from Golfcarts of houston. I seamed to do fine for the first half hour. Then it just kept stopping. Wait a min and it would go about 100 -200yards. But if I could get up to speed it would work fine. just going slow it kept stopping. I read on here I need a 400 amp controller. I took it back to the store today. They said it is a bad Solinoid or resister. Said I dont need a new Controller. It is under warranty. Are they pulling my leg. Or should I make them upgrade my controller. How do I know what size is in there now? Main use is for hunting and cruising at the deer lease.

If it's still under warranty, let the dealer do his job. See how the fix turns out, second guessing him is not advised at this point.
It sounds a little like you don't trust the dealer, if not, why did you buy a cart from them?

I have seen solenoids do crazy stuff. Let them replace it and let them drive it.

If you want to upgrade and your carts under warrany that dealer will not upgrade under warranty. They will install whats on it. if you want to upgrade he will charge you the difference. I wounldn't anyway.

Ok. I just was wondering since all the threads on here about replacing the controller. I will def try it out this weekend and see if it fixes it.

without knowing what is currently on the cart, you have no idea if they have already done the upgrade. I'm not familiar with that particular dealer, but we have many members here from the area. I am sure if there is an issue with the dealer, someone will chime in. Have you asked them what size the controller is currently?
