carb for a 87 2PG
I was thinking of buying a new carb since the rebuild kits are 1/2 the price of a new carb anyway. I read somewhere that the 88 carb might give better performance? Is that suggested or should I just get the carb listed for my 87?

Re: carb for a 87 2PG
I believe the difference is the BV18 vs the BV24 (which is what my 88 has) - you'll probably encounter problems though as the exhaust wouldn't be the same (and the 88 exhaust is an entirely different headpipe, muffler, mounts, etc so it would be a prohibitive swap money-wise)
I'd take Shadows advice and go with the stock 87 carb |
