Default Clutches working, cart will not move

Hi guys I have an 85 EZ go that will not move. The engine runs, the clutch pinches or closes on the belt, tighter the higher the Rpm's, the belt spins, The rear clutch spins but the shaft that enters the "rear differential" from this clutch does not spin. It was working then it stopped. I was wondering if someone could let me know how the rear clutch attaches to this shaft. Sorry if the part names are messed up
Thanks
Jim

Remove the belt then remove the bolt in the center of the driven clutch and it will slide off. Its on splines on the pinion. Your problem may be a stripped hub though it does happen.

Also, if you go to try that and the bolt isn't fully tightened, go ahead and tighten it - it's not common, but they DO come loose sometimes

I've had that happen before. The problem with mine was both rear brake drums... stripped the teeth right out of them.

thought someone would get a laugh out of that... people are always comparing which tires have the best "bite" so I figured I'd go with the Teeth gripping the axle.. I dunno

my cart is currently at the golf course and that is not the best place for me to work on it. I will be recovering it to my house this evening and will hopefully figure it out.

Hi, the cart has been recovered, when we had the panels and seat off and were pushing it we saw that the clutch was moving with the tires. We tried it under power again and it didn't work. we pushed it again and the cluthes didn't move. It must be the clutch loose on the rod that passes through the rear axle. I wouldn't think both the right and left rear axle would come apart at the same time? Is it strange that there was no grinding or noise prior to this stopping? I will say we took it for a drive in reverse (fairly long and fast) just goofing around and it stopped working in Fwd or reverse when we tried to get it to go again. I guess I will have a look in the tech section for assistance in disassembling the rear end.
