Default Identifying An EZGO Gas Cart With ID Plate Removed

I took delivery of a used EZGO 2005 Freedom gas yesterday. I bought it from a local dealer who also sells new EZGO's. Looking for the ID plate this morning I only see 4 holes where the plate was. I am wonderin who the dealer ID't as an 2005. It would appear to have the 295CC engine. Here is the number on the motor:

EH292CE10006462 Serial # 1016907

I am a bit uncomfortable about the plate being remote. Is there any other way to ID the cart. I doubt that my insurance company would be happy with a cart with no ID plate. Plus I wonder if I bought a much older cart than I was told.

Any input would be appreciated.

PIctures are always nice, and very helpful. and maybe a description of the suspension, body, etc. a picture would be best though.

Welcome to BGW

Look at this link and see if you can find the ser#

http://www.shopezgo.com/customer-ser...ialNumber.html

if your cart is a 2005, it will not have a plate to remove , look at the pics in the link the third one that says 2001 - present TXT this should be where you numbers are

The ser# you posted comes back as a 1997 TXT.

Mystery solved. I called the dealer and was told to look under the plastic flap behind the seats and there it was on the sticker on the cross member. I plugged the serial number into the ezgo website and it showed as an 2005 Freedom SE. I had looked at that link earlier but my old eyes couldn't interpret the picture. I feel better now. Another one chalked up to being an old fart.

Thanks to all for the replies.

I used that link after finding the EZGO ID sticker and it came up as a 2005. I talked earlier to EZGO tech support and they said that they did not record
the motor serial numbers in their database.

The first numbers that I posted were on the silver cover on the side of the engine. It would be nice to be able to use those numbers to find out some info on it. Pictures would be pretty much generic except it has chrome hub caps and rear flip seat. About the only thing I will be adding is an enclosure. This will be used for putting around our marina at the lake.

up till about 2001 the steering gear was mounted on the firewall. after that it was mounted on the axle. but you are correct, very little differences in the years except for the engines.
