Default 92 Ezgo Marathon Rear Suspension

All right guys, I am definitely the new guy here. I recently picked up a 1992 Marathon and I am looking to make a few mods to it. One of the things I want to do is add a lift kit and put bigger tires on it. With that, I would like to beef up the suspension to support the extra weight of 2 more passengers. Everything I have read so far says that I should have rear leaf springs. The reality is, I have a shock and a spring that helps prevent bottoming out. What am I missing here? Is there a heavier shock and spring system that I can just bolt on? Thanks in advance!

the 89-93 gxt8oo workhorse style marathon had a heavy duty coil spring, but not sure where you would find one these days. have heard of people using the coil over shock from a yamaha g1. air shock? after market coil over shock? there are many, off of vws, etc. maybe someone with more knowledge will jump in.

and welcome to BGW!
