Re: Parts for a1993 G8
ZX, this is a safari bar make by "Jake's lift kits". Fits a G16. My car has been modified to fit a G16 body on it. So this bar may not clear the G8 front body. The tips of the bar may hit the two front corners of the body. Don't know for sure.
And Welcome to the site!! |

Re: Parts for a1993 G8
Thanks for the insight! I've looked at the G16 body, and may go that way to modify with street legal lights. We use it to go to the clubhouse, pool, and obviously golf course, so I need to put on seatbelts for the 4 year old and her friends.

Mike,
Was there any special modifications you have to make with the G16 cowl to fit the G8? |

Re: Parts for a1993 G8
There are a few things. The frame bracket (behind the Yamaha emblem-2 screws and plate) must be cut off at the welds and moved toward the rear of the car about an inch or 2 and rewelded or bolted back on. Now, you can "plug" the windsheild stud holes (like Mikes) and install the windsheild frame as it is now (on the rubber trim, or you can weld the G16 style frame mount (I think I have one), use G16 w/s studs (out of the holes), beacuse your top is from a G16. All else just bolts up. Your G8 bumper assy will not work. You'll need a G16 style bumper or a cool tube frame set like Mike's. Hope that helped allittle, was that OK Mike?

Re: Parts for a1993 G8
Masterful as always Block
Why change the front end? That's a distinct G8 look. A set of add on driving lights, from your local parts store will work. With a little patience and know how, you can make anything work. |
