Default 2019 express L6 belt to loose

Hi all,
The drive belt on my 2019 L6 seems really loose.
It is low hours and original belt. It is part number 618630

I am used to snowmobiles so I assumed I just
Needed to adjust the secondary but then I found out there is no adjustment in these clutches.
Does anyone know of a shorter belt? I assume that’s my only option.

The belt on golf carts should have a good amount of deflection. They usually hang pretty loose lol. No adjustment for slack on most stock carts. For less slack, you will need to install a shorter belt.

Are you having issues?

The belt is resting down In the secondary.

Just seems it takes a lot of throttle to engage and seems to slip a little.
The clutches must be fully shifting fine though because it will do 22mph

Does anyone know a part number for a shorter belt than the factory?

I'm not that familiar with that cart, but I have looked up shorter belts before. You can use a "seamstress tape measure", the yellow flexible one, and measure the circumference of the belt. Also measure the width. You'll need to take the belt off to do that. Then you can go to the Dayco website. While I generally don't use Dayco brand belts, the website is helpful in looking up belts by size.

Here's the link.

I googled your belt part number and I found this:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/STENS-Ne...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Your belt size is 37.875" x 1.25" double cogged belt, likely a HD belt with Kevlar. Try and take your belt off, if it's really tight, you won't be able to fit a smaller one on there.

A Dayco Extreme ATV belt that is a little shorter and a tad wider is XTX2259 it's 37.125" x 1.292", it's a HD belt and probably more than you need but it's a good one. It will be slightly tighter. I wouldn't go any smaller or you might not be able to get it on the pulleys.

Generally, a smaller belt will engage quicker. A wider belt will ride higher in the secondary clutch and give you a slightly lower gear ratio on take off. You might sacrifice 1-2 mph top speed.

Thank you for the help. I will measure mine first.
It comes off with no effort at all, so I don’t think a shorter one will be an issue.

It is not like the cart doesn’t perform ok. It just seems like it takes a lot of throttle to get it to engages and almost seems as if it’s slipping some. I just can’t believe the Team clutches aren’t adjust able like team secondary’s on a snowmobile to close the secondary sheaves and tighten the belt up.
