well a little update i replaced all the weights in the drive clutch put a new belt on and man what a difference, with gov hooked up it ran 18.6 with it unhooked it ran 24.8 on stock tires. Thanks nononoezgo for all your help you know your carts. now i am waiting on Tom to get me my driven clutch machined and i will see how that does for takeoff and next a lift kit and tires

Mike,
I was getting about the same from my cart before I put on the new wheel and tire pkg. Now wtih the new 23" tires I am getting 33mph out of the cart. You should get that and maybe even more.

Mikes, have you extended your accelerator rod, the one from the bottom
of the pedal to the speed control box. You can take that rod off and
screw the ends further out, therefore extending the rod to open the
butterfly more. If you are factory set, extending this rod will get you
several more MPH. How about the cable coming our of the box? You can
losten the 2 10mm nuts and move the cable OUT of the box and speed
up. Don't do it so much that you 'crank' at a higher speed than idle.
Dick with it and you'll see.
