Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size
I just reread the thread, at least the parts actually about the jet size, and I saw where you guessed the #65 drill would do it. Right on the money! Good going. Just shows that shade tree stuff works every day.! Good luck on the float. That may be harder to solve!

Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size
Back to work!!! Treestump, I found this and thought you might be interested in it.. Take a look and see... It says it will fit any float bowl carb. and names several... I did a little reading on it but there was a lot more info. that I didn't.... http://www.thunderproducts.com/dial_a_jet.htm
Also, since you seem to be handy with some good ideas, what about finding a brass float that could be altered using a little solder??? Just thinkin if it was similar in size and would clear all the internal components why not. This way you could alter the level tab as needed to achieve what your lookin for... |

Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size
Aint it? Thought it might be an option on a mod. stock engine to help dial in the fuel flow if compression ratios changed!!

Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size
I had never seen anything like it... I google an adjustable carb float for treestump and this result came up in the search so I clicked on it out of curiosity and come to find out it was an option for small engine builds that used a float bowl.... I bet that guy is makin some serious money!!

l l l l If you jet opening looks like this with a taper on the inlet, try and duplicate it after boring a large hole, it makes a big difference in the flow rate. |

Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size

Re: #90 Main Jet Drill Size
Another word of caution learned the hard way guys:
Jet sizes and their corresponding measurement (drill size, mm or inches) is brand specific. In other words, a Mikuni 90 is a Kiehin 97.5, or 0.0370 true hole diameter. Their is no standardization between manufacturers. |
