Engine tick
I just got a 1990 cc and it sounds like it has a valve ticking when it's running is there any kind of adjustment for this or could it be something else?

Re: Engine tick
I got it!! I found that small cover just under the carb pulled it off and found that theare is a small spacer between the push rod and the valve stem that had came out. If anyone has this happen let me know and I'll tell you the best way to get it back in.

Re: Engine tick
Chris, were you able to identify the part? I would be wondering how it came out? Are we talking lifter?

Re: Engine tick
scott, yes I beleve it is a shim. it is a small round pice with a tiny shaft that fits into the top of the lifter and pushs on the stem of the valve. I think that it was from the valve floting (high RPM) or stickin.
On a good note, with it back in place she is running like a dream!! Woo Hoo Back to the mud pit!! Chris |
