Is my Marathon <'86 1/2 or >'86 1/2
Hello,
I was looking into buying new shock absorbers for my '86 Marathon, but I've hit a snag. The site sponsor here Easy Does It Customs has the best prices, but they have two different models apparently: Absorbers for 1979-1986 1/2 or 1986 1/2-1994. How do I tell which one of these '86's my cart is? Thanks, Josh |

Look at your serial numbers for your cart, it should give you the year and month, that should help with your decision. Like two letters followed by two numbers.

I don't know why, but when I enter your serial number on ezgo's website, it says it's an 89 marathon electric? Not sure if this helps you or not?

Hmm well this is a surprise to me
I thought I always read that those last two digits were the year of the cart? Man I'm confused. But if that's what the website says then I guess it may be true. But its a resistor cart and I've been ordering and replacing literally every component under the seat, and all the parts I've ordered are for '86 Marathon, and everything runs just fine. Ugh now I definitely don't know where to go with this |

Re: Is my Marathon <'86 1/2 or >'86 1/2
I read that as June 20, 1986 and in addition did 89 carts not have a rubber nose piece? If that is your cart in the avatar I can't see a rubber bit.
In any case here is a solution. Take your shocks off and go to NAPA, find the oldest guy in the store and ask for four of these. Worked for me. Dave |
