I agree, I run the nut up to barely cover the threads, Then with one hand and my knees under the wheel applying up pressure, smack the nut with a large brass hammer, some are very stubborn.

Maybe something on the backside of the steering wheel broke? Thus making the steering wheel fall down on the column more than necessary. Is that what you are thinking?

yes ... it looks like some one "glued" the wheel to the nut .. and the video does not show a spacer behind the wheel ... i looked under my girls wheel and it sits flush
