Unhappy Yamaha G1

So I have a Yamaha G1 that was riding fine then one day just quit. If I put a little gas down the carb it fires up for a second then quits. Searching around I came up with crank shaft seals were bad because I have a new carb, fuel pump, spark plug. Not sure of compression because I dont have a tester but was getting plenty from hand over spark plug. So I finally tackle the clutch side to replace the seal and it looks brand new? The other side one of my screws are stripped on the fly wheel plate. So the question is, would it not be my seals and something else?
