230AH vs 215AH in 36V EZGO
Hello all, looking for input from all of you who understand batteries better than I. I am looking at two Duracell Ultra High Capacity golf cart batteries. One is a DC115 (230AH) and the other is a DC110 (215AH). The DC115 is about $10 more than the DC110's. It is for my 92 EZGO 36V stock. It is running Kenda 18" tires and a set of HD springs. Most of its use is around the yard with some moderate hills and around the neighborhood with relatively flat roads. Planning to pick up a set of batts. tomorrow or Sunday. The only other part I am trying to factor into the equation is if I want to go 6 8V batts and upgrade to a 48V cart. presume the price will get a little inhibitive when I calculate in a new 48v charger vs staying 36v and likely upgrading the controller to an altrax or something. As always thanks in advance for helping me understand what the difference in batts is and 36 v 48.

Re: 230AH vs 215AH in 36V EZGO
for starters, the 215's are underrated batteries, STANDARD golf cart batteries are rated at 225 AH....the difference in the AH ratings is the equivalence of having a larger gas tank. meaning with the 230's, your run time will be longer. Personally, I put the largest quality AH batteries I can afford.
Here is a chart of both 6v and 8v batteries.......going 48v, a set of 6-8v 170 AH batteries would be considered STANDARD.....so the more AH's the better. 48V - 36V Comparisons.JPG and here is one that just has the 8v batteries on it. 8Volt Battery Comparisons.JPG |
