Default 48V DS Electric slow and does not climb hills

Hi Guys,

I am trying to resolve an issue with a DS. It came in with the client complaining it is slow. We started with the controller, sent it away to the repair guys who could not repair it so we installed a Curtis 1510 controller. Cart goes but lacks torque and does not climb hills.

We have checked and replaced batteries, speed sensor, contactor and throttle wiper.

We do get 100% throttle on the controller.

We have maximised all the controller setting for maximum power and we get a full 250Amps to the controller. It definitely not as fast as it was.

Two questions:

Is the 1510 250Amp under powered for the DS Regen?
What controller would you recommend for this cart?

Thanks

DS Regen? Regen I or Regen II, use the Alltrax PD plus 400 controller to increase power 20-25% and make speeds of 20-23 mph

What year is the cart?
Worn out motor brushes were a common issue on the early IQ carts and will cause it to have little or no power.

Thank you for the assistance. We are based in South Africa. Importation costs from the US would put the Alltrax controller out of reach financially.

Thank you for all the assistance.

After many hours we found a battery that was intermittently failing. We assume an internal short of some sort.
