Default h3-12v-55w instead of 35w

I have one burnt out bulb. it is a h3-12v-35w bulb. All I can find in this country is a h3-12v-55w bulb. Can I use this? Can I have 1 that is 35w and the other 55w? replace both with the same 55w?

Thanks!!!

The 55w might melt your light housings if they are only rated for 35w bulbs..U might want to change hole light.Walmart has some nice ones...

It depends on how many amps your wiring can handle and how much heat your lighting fixture will tolerate.

The 35W bulb draws about 3.0A and the 55W bulb draws about 4.6A.
The 55W bulb puts out about 60% more heat.

The 55W bulb will put out 65% more light than a 35W bulb, so it might look strange if you don't replace both.

Honda makes and H3 15w bulb for the Goldwing motorcycle. I used those for years and they have plenty of light output.

I recently switched to an H3 LED bulbs and it only draws about 3w plus they run cool to the touch.
