Default Cart is Always On

What is the problem if I have a cart that is always on regardless of the switch. It is a 97 TXT that I just got running and just found out that the cart is always engaged and the controller led light is always lit green. I have a toddler and am concerned about her jumping on it and being able to move it. Not too safe.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the wiring behind the key switch. Someone may have moved the wire so it's always on if the switch went bad or they lost the key.

Is it bad for the controller?

No. The controller is simply power up all the time. This will shorten the life of the solenoid and the controller... is your solenoid always engaged? ..or does it click when you press the gas?

This is a very unsafe condition. A child or dog could accidentally push the gas peddle down.

It does seem that the solenoid is off and then engages.

Could it be the ignition switch is hooked up incorrectly at the battery point or is it most likely at the actual switch. Is there a switch that could be bad. Trying to figure it out on the schematic.

Thanks in advance.
