Powerwise charger only showing 5 amps
Ok 2002 TXT 36v. I have a powerwise charger and it just shows 5 amps on the charger and I feel like it is always at this constant state. How can I test to see if there are issues and is there a refurb kit that I should just get for it? The Charger seems like it runs for like 6 hours or more sometimes. I don't want to blow anything up so I have been searching the forums just so I know what I am looking at with this puppy.

Scroll down the list a little bit to "Charger issue and question" for a couple tests to start with.

Re: Powerwise charger only showing 5 amps
It is quite normal for a charger to run for 6hrs. Most will time out at 12 to 16hrs if the final charge voltage isn't reached. As for being at 5amps constantly, can you try it on another cart? Usual causes of low output are bad diodes or a bad capacitor. Take a voltage reading of your battery pack after several hours while the charger is on. You should see 44 - 46V.
