Default Re: steering wheel suddenly out of alignment

Would this cause the wheels not to turn all the way in one direction. My son said he ran over a large brick object and now my cart does not turn all the way to the right. It will turn left, but partially to the right. Also when I turn the wheel right it seems like it sticks at certain points till it reaches it maximum turn.

Thanks

In my experience dealing with this issue a dozen times since I first posted this question here, yes. The last one I replaced was so bad the cart could basically only turn one direction.

I can't imagine why the steering wheel would suddenly go off center ....

It happens when somebody suddenly runs into a tree/curb/any other large object without saying anything about it.

Does anyone have a picture of the same mount in factory specs? just for comparison with the new vs bent? I looked at mine and there is a slight angle to it but it looks like the part was made that way; i see no stress marks or unusual markings to indicate the metal had been bent or stressed.

They are not centered from the factory. You need to pull the Delta Arms, shackles, spring and kingpins to find what's bent.

Default shock tower is straight so now what

The wife drive into a wooden fence on the passenger side and now the steering wheel is jacked. I read all the above posts.

So I checked my bracket and it appears straight. I also had a guy at the campground who refurbs and builds custom carts look at it and he said it looks fine as well. He suggested adjusting the drag link on flat level ground to set the wheels straight and check for a bent drag link?????

Anyone have any suggestions

How far off is the steering wheel? Something is bent. If it wasn't, the steering wheel wouldn't have moved.
