Default No Fuel

My sister just gave me a G16 Yamaha that her husband had before he passed away.
I cannot get fuel to come to the carb. I disconneted the line going to the carb and get air when I turn the engine over butno fuel. I put a new fuen line on and put it into a can of fuel but it will not suck any fuel.
Any ideas.

You may have a bad fuel pump but make sure all the lines are clear first. Disconnect the line from the tank to the pump, blow a little compressed air in the hose and look for bubbles in the tank. If you replaced the lines the others should be ok. Now take the hose from the crank to the pump, when you turn over the motor you should feel a pulse on the line. If so, I would think bad or blocked pump. If you want to try the rest of the system, I have taken the fuel cap off before and taken a shop vac with the hose in the blower port to put positive pressure on the tank to force fuel through the line. A few seconds should be enough to fill the bowl. Would also tell you if pump is blocked.
