Club Car DS seat cover install
The seat covers for the 2000.5 DS are on the way. I've never installed any. i have a few questions. My foam is excellent and the covers are too. They're just stained. Should I remove the covers or install the new ones over them?

Re: Club Car DS seat cover install
Quick tip. When installing the new covers, be sure you have enough foam in the front corners, [the older foam kinda sags there] or you will have a wrinkle there. Also, go all the way around the new cover with a FEW staples, and DON'T drive them all the way in. You will probably have to remove a few to adjust the tension on the cover and it is far easier to pull them out if they are not flush. It might take a few tries to get the fit perfect, but staples are cheap. Once you have the right fit, then staple it permanently.

And it helps to have somebody help compress the foam. |

Re: Club Car DS seat cover install
Yes, definitely remove them. There is a dealer down the street from me that “refurbishes” carts and they put black seat covers on over the old ones. They also sell their carts for a premium price, but it feels very cheap to sit on the seat covers and feel the fabric sliding around on the old vinyl.

Re: Club Car DS seat cover install
put the new cover inside an old pillow case and put on low heat in dryer.
This will soften up the vinyl and make it easier to work with, will also remove any wrinkles. |

Re: Club Car DS seat cover install....UPDATE
I started installing the seat covers today. For my first time installing seat covers, I'm pleased. Silicone spray, heat gun, and a cheap HF electric stapler makes the job much easier. I'm hoping a little time in the hot sunshine relieves the remaining little puckers. After looking at some of the cover installs on carts at the local cart rebuilders, I think mine look better than most.
