2010 Club Cart Precedent does not go. What could be the reason if solenoid, controlle
Hi all. I bought a 2010 Club car Precedent and expected it to run when I placed new 48V batteries (well charged) but the cart does not react when I push the pedal, not even when we put another solenoid and controller that we knew were working. The ignition key transmits electricity when "on", we have the tow switch up, the battery transmits electricity to the controller but we do not read any electricsignal at the forward/ reverse switch nor the motor. We do not hear the buzzer when we put the switch to reverse, for that reason. Could someone know the most common reason for these failures?

Lots of things it could be. The OBC can "lockout" movement if it hasn't acknowledged a charge cycle for a while. The Tow / Run switch could be bad. MCOR could cause it not to run, but should still allow the reverse sounder to work. Anything not wired correctly during the swapping of batteries, solenoid and controller could cause it. That's just a starter list off the top of my head.

Thanks for the tips! How can I remove such OBC lockout?

First thing you try is to see if it will run a charge cycle.

Re: 2010 Club Cart Precedent does not go. What could be the reason if solenoid, contr
Thanks but I have a charger that bypasses the OBC. I do not charge via the OEM charger terminal ( Receptacle ASM?). So it might indeed not have sensed a charge since long. So how can I reset the OBC to take out the OBC lockout (even though I do not know if this is the cause of the problems?
My technician (who is not a golf card expert) also finds it strange that the controller sends current even when the selenoid is 'open'. Is this normal? Can someone explain? Let me know Thanks in advance |

Quote:
Inputs needed by an IQ controller with 16 pin connector for it to latch the solenoid by grounding Pin #12 - Blue/White - from solenoid to GND. Inputs are B+ : Pin #5 - Light Blue - Charge Interlock (OBC) - (not charging = B+) Pin #6 - Green - Foot switch (MCOR) - pedal down Pin # 9 - Gray - Tow/Run switch - Run Pin #10 - Tan - Key switch - On Pin #16 - Blue - Forward/Reverse switch - Reverse or Pin #8 - Brown - Forward/Reverse switch – Forward You can probe the wires going into the 16-pin connector at the controller to see if all the above inputs are getting to the controller. From your first post the missing +48v input to the FNR switch could be your problem. The FNR switch gets +48v from the Tow/Run switch on an Orange wire which is connected at a junction (sonic weld) with the Tow/Run output Lt Green wire. Check for +48v on the Orange input wire to the FNR switch (Tow/Run - ON). If the FNR switch does not supply the controller with +48v on the Forward-Brown wire or the Reverse-Blue wire it will not close the solenoid. |

To see if the cart is locked out, unplug the obc 6 pin connector and jump the blue and white wires on the harness side not the obc side of the connector with a paper clip or similar and see if it runs..This will send pack voltage to pin 5 of the controller...

Good info in this thread. Please update on your troubleshooting, I am having similar issues on an 08 precedent I picked up.

I finally got the golf cart running. Your advices helped alot. I had to replace the MCOR, the Tow switch that were not working and I had to replace the 9 pin connector behind the dashboard that had loose connections. I want to replace my wire harness as a whole now because of this. I also bought a cheap reverse buzzer that has a very low volume when I put the cart in reverse. This could be wire connections again or the buzzer itself.
