alltrax question
I've got an alltrax DCX300or400, not sure which yet. I'm pretty sure it's bad and i'm fixing to order another one. My question= is there a big difference between the 300 or 400??? I only play golf in it. I would say that it went about 18 to 20 before it shut down.
I've got a new solenoid, resistor and diode that i'm gonna put on today just to make sure that isn't the problem first. I've never once tried to reprogram it and might look at getting a NCX instead. Does the NCX come programmed for speed or what?? Thanks for reading!! |

Re: alltrax question
What size solenoid are you using? That may determine which controller you can go with .... the 300 is closest to stock in power with the rpm limit removed. 400 is a 33% increase in available amperage = more torque.
The 400 requires a 200amp HD solenoid it. Whichever you run be sure to install a resistor and diode per Alltrax instructions. Hope this helps. |

Re: alltrax question
The solenoid is a 36V 70 series.
I got a new diode and resistor to go with it. The resistor that is on it gets hotter and stays hotter that u know what. It does not have a diode. I'm at work now, will be putting back together when I get off work. |

Re: alltrax question
Your solenoid is not activating, the cart is trying to run puling power thru the resistor instead of the solenoid. Are you sure you have the diode on correctly? Pictures would help us help you.
You can follow this diagram and see where your activation circuit stops. |

Re: alltrax question
Will there be a big difference in the 300 vs. 400 in top speed?
Is dcx worth the extra money? |

Re: alltrax question
It does not have a diode on it right now, just a resistor on the bottom.

Re: alltrax question
If the diode was ever put on there reversed you will have an activation failure at the reed switch or one of the micro switches. Just a thought?

Re: alltrax question
Pretty sure there was never a diode put on it. I did buy one today, but have not had a chance to put it on.
I have no LED on the controller. 37 Volts on the pack |

Re: alltrax question
Got it put on and still the same thing.
Resistor get really really hot as soon as I hooked up the battery pack to it. |

Re: alltrax question
Remove the resistor and diode for testing. Then use the diagram to trace out the faulty activation circuit.
The solenoid will activate when the yellow wire has 36+ and the blue has 36-. Do you have a DMM? |
