Check Plum Quick under used parts. They have a picture of a stack of good looking used rear ends. As I remember 130.00 with brakes.

Yesterday I had excessive road noise and what sounded like a rock inside the tire. Watching the tire turn it seemed to also have a little run out. Got home and jacked the car up and seen there was some free play in the wheel. I tightened the lug nuts and all the noise and symptoms went away. I got a quarter turn on some of them. This may or may not apply to your problem.

A buddy just gave me a used '97 DS for free and after replacing the batteries and getting it running I have the same noise as the video. Replaced the gear oil and have same noise. It seems worse when accelerating than coasting so may be different problem.
I'm a neophyte with carts and I'm no mechanic so I'm looking for instructions on buying and replacing the guide ring since that seems the cheaper first step. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. |
