Club Car power problem

Hello everyone,
I have an IR club car that has ran flawlessly until this spring. The batteries were weak and would not hold charge so naturally I replaced all four of them. After the installation of the new batteries, the cart refuses to move. The cart moved before the new batteries and I have checked to make sure the cables were on right according to the diagram 48v SN PM100237970X . Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Did you put it in tow while changing the batteries? Were there any sparks when reconnecting everything?

When the batteries were taken out it was in tow. When they were placed back in, I believe it was in run. As far as I know there were no sparks.

I didn't look to see what year your cart is, BUT I was a bit surprised with THIS ARTICLE.

Its a long shot - but maybe your experiencing something similar.

I held the pedal to the floor for a few hours. nothing. Everything was turned on and the cart was in neutral position.

When you plug in the charger does it work? After a charge cycle your next steps in troubleshooting would be to look for a loose (or accidentally broken or unplugged cable or connector). Spend some time gently snugging connections. Even wiggle (or unplug and reconnect plug type connectors). Always best to eliminate the simple stuff. But first make sure it charges correctly.

The cables may "look" right, but I'm betting you have at least one battery turned around or a cable in the wrong place. The batteries are wired in series - so the postive from one battery must connect to the negative of the next battery and the postive from that second battery to the negative of the third battery (and so on). Sounds pretty basic but its happened to people before.

If thats not the case and everything was wired correctly - then the next step is to measure the voltage of each battery (each should be above 12.5v). If you get a low voltage on one or two of them, charge it with a car charger until the voltage is over 12.5v then try your charger again.
