Re: 03 precedent 48v no oomph hot spring
Can the solenoid be bypassed, it will kill the regen braking but will it harm anything else?

Re: 03 precedent 48v no oomph hot spring
You can bypass the solenoid, but the regenerative braking is going to be so strong it's gonna throw you over the cowl. If you bypass the solenoid, fine. But do yourself a favor and un plug the speed sensor on the motor to eliminate the Regen braking.

Re: 03 precedent 48v no oomph hot spring
I have a 1999 regen 2. I took the drivers side solenoid off. Saved about 4 feet of battery cable. Disconnected the speed sensor and it seems to run a lot better.
Just for information. |

Yep, it's just a Sepex car with no Regen feature. If that's what you like there's absolutely nothing wrong with running it that way.

Tahoe I have a question. How did you determine his serial A0020 cart had Regen braking? Would that not be ACxxxx serial? Thanks just trying to understand serials....

Re: 03 precedent 48v no oomph hot spring
I can't tell from the serial. The burning resistor spring on the solenoid and symptoms are what told me what he had. The two digit prefixes had not started yet when his car was made. At this time all electric DS cars were "A" regardless of drive system. That's why when you look at the serial number prefix posted in the stickies you'll see a note that says "Prior to separation of models"
